I’m Juanita Reyes, a contemporary artist who has called beautiful Saint Augustine, Florida, home since 2009. Originally from New Jersey, I moved to Florida with my husband and our four children so our daughter, Emely, could attend the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind.

For years, my greatest focus was raising my family. Then, in 2022, Emely encouraged me to pick up my brushes again and something came alive in me that I had almost forgotten was there.

I haven’t looked back since.

Today, my work is inspired by the beauty and energy I see all around me from the historic streets of Saint Augustine to vibrant abstract florals, and richly textured pieces that invite you to slow down, look a little closer, and feel something.

I paint almost every day, even while working full time, always exploring, experimenting, and challenging myself to grow. Some paintings begin with a place or a flower. Others begin simply with a feeling. But every piece carries a little piece of my heart.

My work has been exhibited in local galleries and collected through commissions and private sales. And while I’m incredibly grateful to see my paintings find their way into new homes, the greatest joy is knowing that something I created can bring beauty, happiness, or inspiration into someone else’s space.
